What is Bucky?

Bucky helps you plan residential and commercial construction projects — from parcel and zoning analysis through feasibility and finding the right people to build.

Bucky helps you plan residential and commercial construction projects. It brings the early, decision-heavy parts of a project into one place: understand a piece of land, learn what the rules allow you to build, check whether the numbers work, and connect with the people who can do the work.

The problem it solves

Early project decisions are usually scattered across municipal zoning portals, spreadsheets, and a patchwork of professionals. Answering a simple question — "what can I build here, and does it pencil out?" — can take weeks. Bucky pulls the parcel data, zoning rules, and feasibility math together so you can move from a question to a grounded answer quickly.

What you can do

  • Scout a site on the map — use Project Scout on the Projects map to explore blocks, compare options, and assess development potential before you commit to a project.
  • Analyze a parcel — pull together what's known about a property, including lot dimensions and the zoning that applies to it.
  • Understand the rules — see how a parcel's zoning constrains what can be built, in plain terms.
  • Check feasibility — explore whether a project is viable before committing to it.
  • Find the right people — discover builders, designers, and architects through Bucky's service marketplace.

Who it's for

Builders & homeowners

Plan a project: analyze a parcel, understand zoning, and gauge feasibility.

Developers

Integrate with Bucky's data and workflows over the API (docs in progress).

AI agents

Use read-only Bucky tools over MCP to research parcels and locations.

How you use it

Bucky meets you where you work:

  • A web application for hands-on planning — including BuckyAssist and Project Scout on the map for site exploration. See Prompting BuckyAssist.
  • A REST API for programmatic access — narrative docs and reference are in progress.
  • A command-line interface for scripting and local workflows — in progress.
  • An MCP server with read-only tools for agents — see MCP and the tool reference.

Next: the core concepts that show up across every part of the product, or jump to Prompting BuckyAssist for example prompts on the map and in chat.
